The bigger the soul mission, the bigger the ego
I am going to be honest here. I am sick and tired of this narrative. The idea that the ego is the enemy and the soul is always right.
This idea is widespread in spiritual circles. The ego is seen as the obstacle. The soul as what truly matters. The less ego, the more evolved the person. So the story goes…
Today I would like to offer a different perspective.
What if the ego is not the enemy of the soul, but the soul in flesh and bones?
What if what we experience as fear, control, resistance and overthinking is not a sign of spiritual immaturity, but something very different… A compass for the material world. So you and I can exist at all.
To put it concretely…
If you have no identity, no body form, no thoughts, no origins, no history, you are in bliss. But you also cannot exist in this material world, which is made of limitations in perception, physicality and time.
For example…
You can manifest physical change, but you are not going to become 20 cm taller, change sex, skin color and history overnight. Maybe one day, as we evolve as a civilization. I am not putting limits on this, even if it sounds crazy. In my opinion, we are just scratching the surface…
The point is this:
Your identity is your anchor in this reality.
No identity, no anchor.
That is why so many people freak out when you question their beliefs.
Because it goes to the core. Subconsciously it asks:
„Can I still exist if everything I believed to be true and love collapses?“
The answer is yes.
You exist independently from everything.
That is what I know to be true. And I could be wrong. And that is real brainfuck… like trying to imagine eternity.
You need an identity, in other words an ego, so that you can maintain the illusion of limitations and experience. And if you ask what for, I would answer:
„Because you can… and because it is in your nature.“
The problem starts when you think your identity, also known as your ego, is the problem, simply because it is dualistic.
- You cannot be here and there at the same time.
- You cannot be two people at the same time.
- You cannot be free and trapped at the same time. The concept of freedom is a topic of its own…
You are quantum on a quantum level, but not as a human.
Again and again I see this…
People with great depth, sensitivity, impact and inner calling are often the very ones who struggle most with fear, pressure, self doubt or control.
Not because they are not there yet, but because their system has a lot to hold. And they often manifest the difficulties they believe they have to hold.
The ego is just doing its job of asking:
„Are you still plugged into the Matrix or not?“
If not, it will fight against your thinking mind and your spiritual connection.
The ego becomes a problem when it runs the whole party.
It is the structure that anchors you into this reality.
- Without ego there would be no boundary.
- Without boundary no embodiment.
- Without embodiment no impact in this world.
So the problem is not the ego.
The problem is an ego that has taken control. An ego that believes it has to control everything. An ego that feels responsible for the entire load.
An ego that has forgotten that it is not the source, but an expression of it.
When the ego lives in its shadow side, it becomes tense, fearful, hard and isolating.
When it lives in its sun side, it becomes clear, present, stable and serving.
- Then it protects without separating.
- Then it structures without hardening.
- Then it enables impact while enjoying it, being proud of it and at the same time knowing that the brain has not created it all by itself…
Back to the topic. Ego bad, soul good. And to the point that a big sould mission needs an ego that can hold it.
Think about this…
If you were so unimportant and separated from your soul, which is already an absurd idea, then why would an almighty soul need you to behave like a marionette, playing out a predefined script and paying its debts?
As an almighty soul, you would not need that.
And one more thing…
Ambitious soul projects need solid egos.
Egos that can withstand rejection, physical pain and existential fear.
Egos that do not implode under energetic pressure.
Mental pressure.
Physical pressure.
Systemic pressure.
